ABOUT ME

I am: an English teacher, traveller, music lover, movie watcher, book reader, world citizen, Henry Rollins fan, blogger, photographer, drinker, tattoo enthusiast, dog lover, and talker who is looking to visit as many countries as possible before I die. I am currently an International Teacher just trying to see the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe Diem; I know that might sound cheesy but that is what I am trying to do. I want to have the life I dream about with as many experiences as I can have. So that I know when I die I have done everything I wanted to with the time I was here.

I enjoy meeting new people and can host others to try to show them the things I love about where I live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had a little experience and love it so far. What a great way to get to meet new people and not feel so lonely when travelling alone.

Interests

I am interested in the history, art, culture, religion, food and people of all the places I go. I love to see new things and do new things. I am interested in being as well-rounded as possible and having new adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music=Elvis, Zeppelin, REM, Ryan Adams, Black Keys, Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell and the list goes on and on. Movies=Pulp Fiction, Almost Famous, Fight Club, Inception, Stranger than Fiction, British comedies. I will see any movie I think looks good. Books=Great Gatsby, To Kill A Mockingbird, anything by John Green, I am reading all the time. I love to find new music and go to see bands live. I would love to do a festival tour of the world one summer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing thing I have seen: my students, The Grand Canyon, Angkor Wat, and my latest great trip was camping in Mongolia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned that having a good book and good music can make any place more tolerable. I have learned that nothing can beat a guided tour by a truly enthusiast person connected to that place. I would like to learn more languages.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share tips from all the places I have been and many travel stories. I am also a great cook and would love to cook a meal with my host and share a great evening trading stories, eating and drinking wine or tea. Best of all, I can share my enthusiasm for the world and my positive belief in humanity.
