About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've realised that there is no other way to experience the true culture of a place than to sleep on the floor of a local's house and really get in touch with the country's roots and understand what grounds the place...
I'm not all about the tourist-y things. I love a good adventure off the beaten path and want really immerse myself into what the country is about. What better way to do that than in a home, with a local, without a swipe card that I will most likely lose and waste a day trying to find...

I'm travelling with the aim to make lifelong friendships and connections around the world. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories!!

Interests

I'm a lover of the great outdoors, sport, music, cooking, health, fitness and a really good belly laugh where I stop breathing and my eyes close.

My favourite sports are teams sports but more specifically volleyball, AFL ( Australian rules football), basketball and netball but I'm partial to all sports - recently gotten into snowboarding and surfing- and have grown a real love for watching endurance sports like triathlons and cycling. Love a good WOD and HIIT sess

I love cooking and health foods. Some of my cooking is in my photo album. I especially love trying to make ' unhealthy food' , ' healthy' without compromise the taste!

I work 3 jobs- 2 retail jobs AND am the social media and sales manager for 2 Melbourne start ups. And then I've also got my own business.

I love finding hills or higher ground and looking at the world below. Silence and solitude is therapy for me.

My prized possessions are my bike and my guitar. I spend around 80% of my time cycling from place to place.

I'm pretty sarcastic- only because I don't take life too seriously...

Things that get me excited are
- lame jokes
- riding bikes
- hills (I don't know what it is about them)
- cooking
- getting a cryptic crossword clue (don't judge me pls)
- getting outside
- seeing 'breakfast included' in hostel facilities
- nature
- travelling
- playing music
- functional fitness
- showing people my extremely extremely low alcohol tolerance

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much a of a reader but I love a good read when I find one. Most of the time I like reading the nutrition info at the back of food packets and the dessert section of the menu.
I'd much rather folk-y type music or just music that have instruments in them. I love raw sounding music and I could sleep listening to just a single guitar and a voice. Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, The paper kites, Mumford and Sons are some pretty cool bands but I'm pretty much partial to any music that provides a good sing-along... Like Celine Dion's 'My heart will go on'.
Macklemore, JT, T-Swizz sometimes even make the list
