Overview
About Me
My name is Angus, I'm 23 and from England. I'm currently on my dream adventure around the world. I Have been travelling since January and my journey has taken me through India, Vietnam and Cambodia and now I'm living in Melbourne.
I'm an English graduate and studied at the University of Liverpool in the UK.
I'm really easy to get along with and have many interests. I'm into travel, music, photography, fashion, food, reading and soccer (Arsenal fan) and always extremely open to meeting new people and throwing myself into new experiences.
I arrived in Melbourne almost a month ago and have been living with my friend Stephen whom I met while in India. He along with his family have been wonderfully hospitable but now the time has come to move on.
I've just got a job on Chapel Street which I start next week. For the time being I'm free to spend my time exploring this wonderful city.
Can't wait to meet you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to meet cool, wonderful locals who are fun and generous which I'm sure to get along with (I know you guys are out there).
Although its something I've never tried, I've met many people who swear by it and say that this website has really improved their travel experiences. I use workaway which is somewhat similar in that you offer your time as a volunteer in return for a roof over your head, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a wide spectrum of tunes. I'm currently listening to Kendricks new album ALL the time, along with: Beach House, Anderson Paak, Falty DL, Thundercat, Solange, Simian Mobile Disco, The XX, Tame Impala, Oliver Schories to name a few.
Due to being away from home I've fallen out of the movie loop, but some great ones that spring to mind are Fight Club, Rear Window, Star Wars originals, Samsara, Spring Summer Autumn Winter Spring, Garden State (because Natalie Portman)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteered at an informally run, free school in a Cambodian village in Siem Reap Province. I was a teaching assistant, helping the wonderful children improve their English speaking skills for a few hours each day. The children of Cambodia have no access to free education and although state schools exist, some families can't afford to send their children, preferring to have them help out in the fields or sell homemade goods at the market.
It was a heartwarming experience to live among these wonderful people, staying with a host family and eating their fantastic local cuisine.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to use my 1978 Olympus Om-2 camera. I'm no expert but always excited to share my interests with others. I can teach you my meatball recipe!
I want to learn a new language - I've tried my hand at French multiple times but would benefit from having regular teaching lessons. I wouldn't mind learning a new instrument, I play a bit of guitar but love the piano. I would also be very thankful if you could show me some amazing recipes for food I've never encountered.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my travel experiences, the music i listen to, TV shows I watch and Books I read. I can share my personality with you so that we both learn from each other. Unfortunately I cannot share my home because I do not currently own one!
