About Me

Hey! My name is Angus and I'm from Melbourne, Australia, but I've been living and working in Germany for the last six months. Back in Melbourne, I'm an aerospace engineering student, and spend my weekends boogying with my friends, roadtripping to music festivals and tinkering with mechanics. I'm always up for a philosophical conversation, a good film or documentary or just being silly and having fun. There's always time for dancing (especially to techno ;) ).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a poor student! I also feel that couchsurfing is an excellent way to make valuable friendships and gain unique insights into different cultures.

Interests

Travelling of course! Also, as an aerospace engineering student, I love reading about space and new technologies. I'm always interested in discussing science and philosophy with new people and enjoy messing around with my turntables back at home. While there's not a lot of snow in Australia, I love to snowboard whenever I get the chance :).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-wise, I love dancing to anything techno, but also enjoy hip-hop (especially 90s and experimental stuff), and chilled beats. I'm willing to give any genre a good listen though :)

My favourite books would have to be the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series, Labyrinths by Borges, Ringworld and The Cosmic Serpent. Recently I've been tackling and enjoying Jean Baudrillard's Simulations and Simulacra (the book that The Matrix was based on ;) !)

I like any film that makes me think, such as Enter the Void, A Scanner Darkly and Waking Life. I also have a soft spot for anything Studio Ghibli.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taken flying lessons!
