About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Street Photography of EVERY town I visit!

ABOUT ME

The most important thing for me, without a doubt, is photography. I've been shooting weddings and portraits for a few years, but just recently I have discovered the brilliance of street photography - the joy of exploring a city on foot with nothing but a camera and a bottle of water. It's amazing what you see when you look.

And this has turned out to be a wondrous thing, because as of March 2012 I am studying in Germany for the year. When I'm not at uni, I'm on a train to a new place, seeing the sights - but more importantly, the people at the sights. I absolutely love it here in Europe.

Personality-wise, I'm an extremely easy person to get along with, and I'm always having a laugh. I make jokes more than I take breaths, so I get along best with those people that have a wicked sense of humour... And I always want to be living in the moment. So let's enjoy the time together with a drink and a laugh.

PHILOSOPHY

The Lustprinzip - it's a term here in Germany for living in the moment. I think that sounds kind of cliched - but I'd rather have no money and live life day to day than be stuck in a high paying job that I hate. I'm not hugely goal orientated.. I prefer to remind myself constantly that this is my life and its all I have - sometimes you can forget that - so enjoy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just beginning! So much pressure! There aren't too many CS events around me (here in Konstanz).. But I'm travelling to France and then Prague these easter holidays.. so maybe I'll make some new friends CSing along the way

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Up to this point, I've never been an 'official' couch surfer - and I can't wait to begin. But through my place at home in Sydney we have had various wayfairers - usually Germans or other Australians. Two things struck me the most.. With the Germans, our household bread consumption went up 5 fold. And with the Australians, intentions of 'big partying' often turned to extended YouTube sessions with beers. Both were great :)

Interests

Photography. Definitely.
But other than that, I'm a big pop culture fan. Sorry in advance for making references to each and every show or YouTube clip I've seen.
I'm also very in to cooking - my promise is to cook you a meal if I surf your couch. My specialty is asian ;)
Annnnnd finally... my dog, who I've left back at home in Sydney for the year. Miss you buddy!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm in to everything - but movies of the comedy/adventure/drama genres strike me most. I also have a serious weak spot for TV series - comedies and dramas... You couldn't have a bigger Simpsons fan than me. And I read a lot - but pretty much only Fantasy novels. Don't go thinking 'Oh wizards and elfs' etc etc.. Some of these books are incredible. Read Patrick Rothfuss' 'The Name of The Wind' and you'll never look back. In fact here is an amazon link to convince you, random stranger: http://www.amazon.com/The-Name-Wind-Kingkiller-Chronicles/dp/075640407X

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When my dog was 6 months old, we had our first party with him, with loads of people. I put him down to go and get a beer, then came back and sat down. He sniffed it, ran over to the eskie, grabbed another one and dragged back along the floor then jumped up and put it on my lap. It was true love.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone the art of photography, and how to read the light. I believe that automatic modes should be banned from all cameras, because people forget to really look at what they're photographing...

I also juggle just to relax sometimes.. that's a pretty practical thing you can learn. (Practical is used very loosely here)

I also want to learn more and more language... Especially the slang terms.. Please teach me!!
