About Me

CURRENT MISSION: Keep moving, never get stuck and become a laughter yoga teacher!

CURRENT JOB: I'm working at a vegan Indian restaurant, teaching laughter yoga and working as a translator

MORE ABOUT ME

"You didn't come into this world.
You came out of it, like a wave from the ocean.
You are not a stranger here." - Alan Watts

That's what I feel with every cell of my body. We are not strangers. That's why I joined this community. We are interconnected, we share so much, we are not lonely on this Earth, we don't need to be afraid of each other.

I want to have the best impact on this planet and all living creatures. That's why I feel generosity and honesty in contact with other people is essential in life. That's also why I thought one day 'Hey, it's actually nice idea to become a vegan!'. Recently several people called me 'a free spirit'. For me, among other things, it means that I have to keep moving. Mentally, physically, geographically. By developing your consciousness, enriching your knowledge, every day with little things. By moving to different places, on the map or in your head. Changing perspectives. Changing surroundings. Changing yourself. Constantly changing! That's why I think this net of people that help each other discover themselves (because what else is travelling if not discovering yourself over and over again?) and sharing their beautiful lives is so exciting and I want to have my share, starting today.

And one of my favourite quotes of all times that can help describing me a bit better:

"Falling in love is the ultimate act of revolution, of resistance to today's tedious, socially restrictive, culturally constrictive, humanly meaningless world.

Love transforms the world. Where the lover formerly felt boredom, he now feels passion. Where she once was complacent, she now is excited and compelled to self-asserting action. The world which once seemed empty and tiresome becomes filled with meaning, filled with risks and rewards, with majesty and danger. Life for the lover is a gift, an adventure with the highest possible stakes; every moment is memorable, heartbreaking in its fleeting beauty. When he falls in love, a man who once felt disoriented, alienated, and confused will know exactly what he wants. Suddenly his existence will make sense to him; suddenly it becomes valuable, even glorious and noble, to him. Burning passion is an antidote that will cure the worst cases of despair and resigned obedience. "

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Share and catch the good and the beauty of the world with other people! Share couches, journeys, stories, friendships!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A beginner, very excited about new surfing experiences.

Interests

- TRAVELLING - changing perspectives, discovering new cultures, discovering myself. I want to do more of it starting with CS, starting today.

- TRANSLATION - English/Polish; focusing on written text, but also open to interpreting

- CYCLING! - couldn't live without a bike.

- PHOTOGRAPHY - enjoying my beginner camera and my beginner pictures and sharing them with the world

- LAUGHTER YOGA - I'm developing my laughter yoga skills at the moment. I finished a Laughter Yoga Teaching Course of which I'm very proud, but I also realized how much more I have to learn to be able to teach. I love the challenge : )

- YOGA - Iyengar yoga, although very curious about ashtanga

- VEGANISM - animal rights, COOKING. Going vegan made me realize how much there is to discover in treating yourself and other people with colourful and healthy food. Discovering it every day and it's getting more and more exciting! I have some experience working as a chef in some veggie restaurants which made me realize how much more I can learn everyday.

- BOOKS - some of the books/authors I'm currently reading: Herman Hesse "The Glass Bead Game", Olga Tokarczuk, Gunther Wallraff, Deepak Chopra "Peace is the way", Vegetable Cookbook ;)

- HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVSM - I've been in a human rights activist group for a while. Now taking a little break but open to new ideas and initiatives.

- MUSIC - huge diversity. Appreciating various ethnic rhytms from all the globe, love Tony Gatlif movies for music, through Ravi Shankar, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Popol Vuh, Osjan, to Roma Amor, Jeff Buckley, dEUS, PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, Velvet Underground, Les Rita Mitsuko, The Honeymoon Killers, Stereo Total, Polish cold wave, French old classics, Georges Brassens, Nouvelle Vague, Świetliki, Sonic Youth, Iggy Pop, Gogol Bordello, Balkan sounds, Gypsy sounds, plus many more, plus more dancy sounds...
Also singing, at home, with friends. I'd love to learn some instrument. Maybe you can teach me?

- LEARNING LANGUAGES - learning French, planning on starting up Spanish next

All those things and more I didn't mention can probably be summed up in that: I love to do all those things I can to make my own way on this planet sharing as much positive energy, inspiration, and being inspired by others as much I can, making this world nicer to live in for all beings (even just a little bit!) and still staying faithful to myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

It'd be easier to talk about over a cup of tea or drink IN PERSON :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled to the east of Poland by Belarussian border for a Shamanic workshop and experienced complete tranquility living in the nature and pure amazement of a life away from civilization.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach Polish and English.

I can make pretty nice vegan cakes and not too bad hummus, from what I hear. I can cook you something nice if you agree to host me : )

I know a few more things, but they can't be put in just one word. Well, you could call it life, maybe? If you understand sharing useful knowledge by life experience, then I'd be happy to share some of it, too! But that'd be about the most important thing we can all exchange, I can't wait to share some of it with more people around the world or even just round the corner.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Percious moments of my life : ) My stories, food, knowledge of cooking... Can teach you Polish or English.
I can share some good time and invite you to my place in return, show you some good spots (depending what you're into!). If we get on well, maybe we could share a trip as well?
