About Me

I work a lot and I don't have much free time, but always when I can, I travel. I am an outgoing person who likes to meet new people. I am not really a tourist and I am more interested in hidden places and personal stories than guidebook's best choices.

I am also a lazy part time writer and translator.
I can play table foosball for fun or for money.
I hate clubbing. But love pubs and eating out.

PHILOSOPHY

'How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed, shit, piss, brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?'

'If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start'.

'Ja na mój los w ogóle nie narzekam. Uważam się za "dziecko szczęścia" po prostu, wziąwszy pod uwagę zupełne niezabieganie o przyszłość, popularność‡ i przymierze z publiką… i plugawcami (tzw. 5 "p"). Każda chwila mojej egzystencji bez głodu i wszów jest dla mnie niepojętym cudem'.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. I can't name all of it. It depends on my mood, weather and other circumstances. When I'm sad I listen to The National or Damien Rice, just to feel more sad. When I'm drunk I listen to Tom Waits, Gogol Bordello and Joy Division, just to get more drunk. When I want to dance I listen to The Knife, David Bowie and The Beatles. When I want to sing I listen to Bruce Springsteen, Oasis or Ben E. King. Sometimes I am getting obsessed with some band and I play their music until I throw up. At the moment I'm in love with Nick Cave, Kevin Morby and Lord Huron. But overall I am into rock, electro, industrial or old good pop music (oh memories), and some Polish music. I am also a die hard U2 fan, but I promise I won't talk about it (unless you're also a fan;).

Movies. La grande bellezza, This must be the place, The Seventh Seal, The Meaning of Life, Leaving Las Vegas, The Big Kahuna, American Beauty, Where Buffalo Roam, Himmel uber Berlin, K-Pax, Million Dollar Hotel, The United States of Leland, Fight Club, Yes Man, Into the Wild, Black Cat White Cat, Arizona Dream, Shrink, Night On Earth, Four Rooms. And many more.

Books. I like Russian writers. My absolute favourites are Yerofeyev and Bulgakov. I also like Dostoyevsky. Besides Russians I like Huxley, Bukowski, Kafka, Vonnegut and some others. Almost forgot about Polish writers - Witkacy, Prus, Gombrowicz and Kapuscinski. Lately fascinated by The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

TV. I don't watch TV at all. But there are some good series. Like Twin Peaks, House of cards, IT Crowd, Monty Python, How not to live your live, X Files (I'm secretly in love with Mulder's hair cut from 1995).

My list is still open. You can recommend me your favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After crazy trip across England and Wales I landed up on stage with U2.

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess you can infer it from my profile. I can share with you everything I have typed in "Interests" field.
I can teach you some Polish or Kashubian (if you aren't Polish you probably don't even know what the hell Kashubia is:). And I can tell you many stories about my city and country. I can also share my knowledge about NGOs in Poland and Europe.
And I can also cook something for you! But I'm not into traditional Polish cousine, I'm sorry;)
You can show me your favourite places in your area, I'd be more than honored!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some food, some coffee. If you'd like to explore Kashubia and if I don't have to go to work, I can drive you through the region. Or you can borrow my bike.
