About Me

Since August 2015 I am back in Germany. I spend a year in the USA as an au pair after I finished my A-Level and I really enjoyed it. Now I am studying Political science and economics in Potsdam.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is an amazing way of travelling. By living with an American famlily I learned that you can experience a place in a better way when you come in contact with local People. You are not just a visitor at a place then but you feel like being a part of it.
In addition I like the chance of getting Sightseeing tips. Visitor guides sometimes don't know the best local restaurants or the most wonderful sights.

Interests

I love to travel. Since last July I have seen so many different places: Key West, St. Augustine, Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, Niagara falls,... And I want to see so many more places.
I am also a very active person: I like to go swimming and I don't care where: pool, river, ocean; skiing and riding my bike. I really like days when we try something new: rock climbing, Rafting, snorkeling or climbing.
But I am happy when I can end my day with a good book or a nice movie.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I read the century triology by Ken Follet and it is really good!!
I am not picky with books and movies what makes it really easy to watch a movie with me and for me easy to find a book. But I prefer to read books that are recommended to me because I am never able to decide what I want to read right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing Thing I have done is my year in the USA. To get out of my Country, leave my life as I knew it behind and start something completly new in a new Country with new freinds and People. The greatest thing here so far was my trip to Washington DC. I really like the City but what makes my trip so special is that it was my first time doing something like that alone. I went alone to DC without knowing the City or anyone! It was such a great experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I really want to learn Spanish. I tried to but I didn't have time to continue.
I think it's wonderful to be able to speak different languages! It gives you a totally new view of things, People, countries and you sometimes even ralize that there are expressions missing in your own language.
I want to share everything I learned from my year in the USA with my friends, Family and other People. Not just things I learned about this Country but things you can learn about yourself and the way you see the world.
