Overview
About Me
I am Anil; I'm a multiethnic wordsmith from Yorkshire in England. I'm an affable cat and a lifelong creative with a great love of diversity and the panoply of existence.
I'm living in Utrecht right now with my wife; we have a tiny place right now but hopefully will be able to welcome surfers soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can cook, play basketball, write poetry, clean, fetch and carry, hold familial interventions, psychoanalyse, perform first aid, serenade, jam, tell stories, sing songs, write poems just for you and spread the word of your hospitality to all I meet.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm now quite an experienced surfer on my 20th city, but I've never hosted, although many of my friends do. Their profiles are there as some of my references.

Music, Movies, and Books
"Midnight's Children" by Salman Rushdie. "Watchmen" Graphic Novel by Allan Moore, "The Prophet" Kahlil Gibran, "The Famished Road" Ben Okri, "Ring of Bright Water" David Maxwell. Many more
Music is huge; Chance the Rapper, Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper Experiment, Exile, Bonobo, Ratatat, Blak Twang, Gentleman's Dub Club, La La and the Boo Ya.
All musical genres considered; it's just got to be made with the craft and graft, for the love.
Movies I'm less motivated by but I do like a good film. The Cabin in the Woods made me squirm and think, Philomena made me sad and life-affirming, Warrior made me clench my abs for the lostness and strength of the modern man. I like kung fu films a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I see amazing things all the time but the most recent I guess was performing in Sheffield city centre (my home town) at the Tramlines festival. There were thousands of people and I performed an "a capella" dedicated to my friend who is sadly imprisoned at the moment. It was powerful, hearing my words sound and resound over the square, shouted and directed through the many ears of the listeners, through their thoughts, to him.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach hip hop skills, domestic stuff like cooking, can assist with English language tutoring, really good on MSOffice and some other computer applications, good knowledge of some academic and policy areas (social movements, gender and identity, development studies, social psychology and conflict resolution) as well as the research funding environment in medical and social sciences. Happy to help where I can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer great conversation, a good meal cooked by my own hands, a personal performance (if desired, it's not mandatory)!
