About Me

My mission is to find beauty and truth, to learn, to grow, to spread awareness, and to celebrate this moment!

I believe...
Most things are in your mind and you create your own reality.
Meditation and stillness = the answer to most 'problems'.
Living in the moment could be the meaning of life.
When the ego gets obliterated, the soul blossoms.
Attachment leads to suffering.
Listening is an act of love.
You should always follow whatever is guiding your heart or inspiring you. Stay true to yourself and your values, do what makes you happy, and don't be limited by fear. Encourage others to do the same.
LOVE and let the rest go.

Hello beautiful people of the world!

I'm Ani and I am originally from the US, although I don't really see myself as 'American', aside from my love for condiments! I was born in Florida, but I have also lived in California for 4 years (2 years in West Hollywood and 2 years in San Francisco).

I've traveled all over the US, and combined adventure with various types of activism. I've followed a peaceful, cruelty-free diet for 2 decades. As an ethical vegan, I believe spreading awareness to help the greater good is critically important. Ultimately, serving a purpose while traveling and experiencing what this world has to offer is what is most fulfilling to me.
After a long time of dreaming about life outside of the US, I decided to follow what was pulling my heart-- which leads me to where I currently am now.

I have been travelling for a few years now and at this point, I don't think I can stay in one place too long. There's too much real living out there to do! I LOVE being a drifter, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I lead a simple, yet fun and colourful life. I love having only a few possessions (and not getting attached to any of them! ) and carrying my whole world on my back (or bicycle!). I am on a mission to go anywhere as different from the US as possible!

I am traveling with my incredible husband Pani (couchsurfing.com/pani-wilson), who has been my side-kick since early May 2016.

Thank you, each one of you, for doing your part to contribute to an amazing project that facilitates connection and warmth all across the globe, and for giving so many of the world's weary travellers a place to rest. I am looking forward to meeting, learning from, and sharing experiences with you as I float through this life.

Love and Blessings,
Ani

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am always interested in hearing as many perspectives and insights as possible. I enjoy meeting people who are very different for myself, because that's usually who I learn the most from! If we have things in common, that's great too! :) I am especially fond of oddballs, artists, yogis, vegans, activists and adventurous/ outdoorsy people.
Couchsurfing is so great because you often get introduced to so many new things that you wouldn't have learned about or experienced without your awesome couch host!
I've hosted several couch surfers at my homes in California and Florida, as well as surfed the couches in 9 countries across Asia and Oceania! All amazing people and experiences!
We are all family and the world is our home. Let's connect and take care of each other!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Any time I'm swimming in the water is amazing (it's a different world down there!), but here is what immediately comes to mind--
Swimming across a big glacial pool (sans wetsuit!) that was no warmer than 37° F! It was exhilarating, but I was thankful for my hot vegan chai tea after swimming in ice water!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can lead you through a yoga class ( Anusara RYT 500 ), and share good vegan food and recipes with you!
I love to share everything I have. What's mine is yours!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a huge foodie, and I love cooking as well! I will gladly cook something vegan and delicious for you! I like anything weird and exotic, and I would love to try some of your recipes or experiment together. I am especially keen on RAW (vibrant, live) vegan food, Ayurvedic cooking, and spicy things in general. Either way, we will eat well!! :D

HUGE animal lover here-- I am happy to help walk your dog, or take care of your pets! I've also done quite a bit of house sitting along my travels (I am also a member of TrustedHousesitters), so I am happy to take on the responsibility of taking care of your home, pets, possibly children if you plan on being away!

My husband and I both really enjoy creating art together. If you are looking for any new art pieces for your home or garden, we would really enjoy making something for you! We are especially interested making murals together, so please let us know if you know a good place for us to paint! :)
