About Me

I just love life. And traveling gives me this essential feeling of being alive, here and now. I enjoy connecting and sharing with other people, exploring new destinations and having small adventures. I'm curios and open, in the meantime I don't intrude as I also need my own space and time for reflections.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the best way to understand the country and culture is through getting in touch with its people, talking to them, getting to know their traditions, rituals, receipts.

Interests

I love running; I run regularly just not very long distances, I've done few half-marathons. Then I love windsurfing and downhill skiing in wintertime. And I love singing in shower and while cooking or driving :) Btw, I sing quite well, you can really enjoy it (hopefully). I also love dancing. And I love my kids and to spend time with them. Oh, and I love my job - there are a lot of great people working, and they are the best part of my job.

Music, Movies, and Books

As I've finished a music school, my favorite music ranges from Vivaldi and other classics to quality rock and temporary dance music. I'm very found of opera, however, you can enjoy this art only if it's impeccable. I attend MetOpera live broadcasts for several years.
Movies - some of my favorites are "Amelie" and "Groundhog day". I enjoy European directors, English detective series like Midsummer Murders, etc.
Books - my all-time favorite is "Story of San Michele" by Aksel Munte. I actually read a lot. From recent books a nice one is "Little Paris Bookshop". Or Kate Atkinson "Life after life" and her crime novels. Or Robert Galbraith (another pen name of Joanne Rowling).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One Midsommer morning I swam over river Daugava ~800 meters, the biggest river in Latvia. It was early morning and I didn't warn anyone about my plan, as that was totally spontaneous decision. It was quite there, I was alone, in the middle of deep waters, wild nature around, no cities or people. Just me and the river.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a story teller, for sure. :) I can share stories from my bicycle trips; as I've done 8 two week trips in different European countries; and other trips as well. I would love to improve my Italiano. And I can share a bit of everything I know - languages, psychology, and what I've learned life is about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Any place I visit I leave as clean as I found it or cleaner. This is a rule No 1 when I travel in nature but to my mind it applies to urban world, too. I take care of myself, you don't have to bother about me. I cook for myself; and sometimes for others, too.

Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine
