ABOUT ME

I immigrated to Canada from India when I was 25 years old. Mostly I've loved being here. Still very connected to India, in that I visit often. Have a Canadian husband and a 20 year old son.

Have worked in IT for many years. Not working at present. Trying to decide what I want to do next.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in nirvana (as liberation from all day to day anxieties, a state that helps us empathise with the human condition). I feel I get glimpses of it occasionally, but not often enough.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Don't know yet how I will be able to participate. My fear is that there are not enough older people to relate to here.
I'd wouldn't mind relating to younger people either .. but am not up to the bar scene .... or the dating scene ...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have no experience on this site. But have hosted lots of people my age or my son's age (20 somethings) at home in Toronto, Canada.

Interests

Walking, cycling, reading, discussions about the meaning of life, drinking wine, emerging China and India, the similarities and differences of the two countries. And interested in anything about Toronto which has been my home for the last 20 something years ..

Music, well I like sarah mclaughlin ... don't listen to much though. Books - I read a lot. Any fiction. Love fiction set in the '3rd world'.

Occasionally I am in a state where life feels amazing and beautiful.

I want to live a simpler life, but haven't been able to figure out how yet. I like to talk to others in the same struggle, or people who feel they have some answers about thsi.
