Overview
About Me
I am a critical mind that enjoys challenging her own views.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There is so much more to discover off the very beaten pub crawling tourist track here in Berlin...
Interests
Travelling especially in Russia, the Caucasus countries, Central Asia and Iran. Languages (currently learning Persian). World affairs.
I am frequently going to concerts and am quite a cineast...
Music, Movies, and Books
I love Soul from the 60s, Disco from the 70s, Pop from the 80s, Rock from the 90's, Electro from the 2000s and not too much from today's music (except for some Folk and Shoegazer pop).
Favourite writer to date is probably Stanisław Lem. Also: Russian contemporary novelists such as Samjatin and Pelewin. I generally indulge in literature that opens a window to unknown countries and cultures. So, travel writing, may it be contemporary or ancient, easily strikes a chord. I give non-fiction literature a hard time usually, but was quite riveted by Piketty's "Capital in the Twenty-First Century".
I recently was very close to tears watching Fatih Akin's "The Cut".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What is that self-praise for?
