Hi, I'm Anja.

Right now I'm living in southern France, sharing an apartment with two other Norwegians, Kaja and Olav.

To tell a little bit about myself, I've had a safe and secure childhood just outside Oslo, Norway. Had an exchange year in high school and lived with a host family in Indiana, USA. And I am now taking a gap year here in Montpellier studying the language and getting to know the culture.

Always up for a new adventure, wether it contains a new type of beer, a new sport or simply a new face.

I love cooking (preferably vegetarian), and eating (long meals around the table is the highlight of every day) and in general sporty and up for a hike.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently got introduced to this amazing community through a friend who hosts a lot of couchsurfers. Two of them have ended up sleeping some days in the apartment I share with two other Norwegians here in Montpellier, and I have realized how sharing our couch brings can create great memories.

I'm a traveller myself, so hoping to be travelling better and cheaper through couchsurfing from now on. And by better I truly mean in a richer way. Getting a glimpse of someone else's life in a new town, and getting to know a city through a local's eyes is the best way to it!

Anything with a good rhythm, acoustic guitar or interesting vocal will do.
On my ear as I'm writing this is Cocoon by Milky Chance. Kakkmaddafakka, Mac Demarco, Aurora and Years&Years are some other favorites.

Previous movie I watched was Fantastic Beasts and where to find them.

Reading Emma by Jane Austin in french right now, however Maya Angelou and Walt Withman are some of my favorites. And best of all is hearing other people tell their stories directly.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anything that has to do with cooking, wine, beer or food culture. I will gladly share my mix of Norwegian, American and French knowledge.

Up for a game of cards?

If you need a good beer in Montpellier, a park to relax in or a museum to visit I will share and join if time allows it.

Play very little guitar but would love to learn more.

speak English and Norwegian fluently, and my french is getting there, sharing and learning all three of them is tiptop!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully some good dinners, languages, and maybe a drawing or two. My life experience is always up for a grab if you're interested in a good conversation:)
And of course, the ability to come and sleep in Montpellier if that is desired.
