About Me
Hey, my name is Anja and I am from Germany. Traveling for me means to really get to know a country - this includes making friends with locals, trying food and drinks and experiencing spontanoeus and fun adventures. I studied Biology and currently work as an editor for a medical magazine, so I love to chat about science. If you do not find me reading a book I'll probably be outside hiking or climbing. I promise to leave your flat as clean as it was, but maybe even with more chocolate inside ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started Couchsurfing when I was 18 years old and broke :D Together with my friend Cathi I had an amazing time in Scotland and ever since I love Couchsurfing. The whole trip would not have been the same without the amazing people we met, some of whom I am still friends with years later.
Interests
I'd love for the week to have an extra day just to learn about all the stuff I am interested in! Topics I love the most are biology, science in general, literature, food and everything that has to do with being outside.
- literature
- traveling
- bouldering
- hiking
- biology
- languages
- food
- climbing
Music, Movies, and Books
I love books and read nearly every genre, so I love to hear about your favourite stories! I barely watch movies, so I will embarress myself if you ask me anything about actors :D I do not have a favourite band or singer - however, I mostly listen to rock and indie. Here , my love for literature kicks in again - if it has cool lyrics I will probably love it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Many, and most of them include travelling. So here is my top 3:
1. I traveled through Scotland with my friend Cathi when we were 18. It was amazing, even though we were still quite naive and ended up in wild and funny situations more than once!
2. Together with my boyfriend I hiked across the Alps for two weeks. This was crazy and exhausting and we had to quit because my boyfriend tug his patella tendon and I got covid. Still, it was an amazing experience and now I love the mountains even more.
3. We got our dog Jasper and he is a sweetheart.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am the first person to get lost in Wikipedia rabbit holes, just because I love to learn. So please tell me about all your nerdy hobbies and interests! However, you have to deal with me doing the same and probably dropping weird biology facts at least once in our conversation :D
What I Can Share with Hosts
The easiest to share is probably my love for food - cooking together or just enjoying snacks and a drink would be amazing. Of course I also like to share funny moments and cool stories!
