About Me

Update:

2022 Sean the Harp and my good self will be heading out for another walk from the 2nd of April onwards. There's no telling when we will be back but we're looking forward to meeting some of you hosting in Ireland, UK, Netherlands and beyond. 😊

2021 let's try again: hopefully walking around Cork and and maybe even a little further afield. I look forward to meet and visit with some of you now that we can move around a little again.

Yes fully vaccinated, I really am in need of the walk :)

2019 and 2020 we will be in and around home and look forward to hosting some of you.

We're transitioning into a no-plastics household so I would like to ask you to not bring any plastics into the house and if you do, please take them away again (it's really hard to do).

I love hosting and hearing your stories, but please do read all the information that is here because my home is simple to the point of Spartan and we've got cats! So if you like comfort and you're allergic or don't like cats, there's no point in reading on or sending me a message.

I look forward to catching up and seeing some new faces this year.

For now, be well and travel safe....

proud of the CS community and what it stands for.

A like minded community of free spirits who shelter and share.

I can't get enough of it and you. You're all beautiful, bountiful and so appreciated.

======

I love travelling and I love most people and would like to meet as many of you as I can this lifetime....

I am a harpist, recorder player, singer, writer, walker, pilgrim, mother, lover, teacher, life-liver.

Every day is a new beginning, dawn, adventure and I am here to be there.

Music I play to connect and be. With all of you and sometimes just me.

Update:

2016 My wonderful child has taken off to South Korea and I find myself wondering what is next. So I've started a youtube channel about my adventures with Sean the Harp. I'm thinking of travelling more, see more, go and meet more of all of you.

===================

Update:

from March till August 2018 I'll be travelling on foot from Ireland through Wales, England, France, Switzerland and Italy with Sean the Harp. So we're hoping to visit you and you are welcome again next autumn.

Travel safe!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Many have gifted me their company, couches and beds. Shared their food and drink with me. As a host I would like to return those gifts and favors as well as pay forward for when my daughter may be in need of a helping hand, a plate of food, a place to rest. As a traveller I want to spend time with you all. Hear your stories, learn about your histories, share music and song.

I've been getting more gigs at festivals all around the country and I'd like to start using CS as a tool to be able to go and do gigs that I otherwise would have to turn down :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2010 I walked with my harp Sean from Clonakilty in West Cork to Santiago the Compostella in North Western Spain. For some 2.500 km I carried and played my harp every day for 4 months and 3 weeks.

The walk was in solidarity with all victims of abuse in Ireland.

In 2018 I walked with Sean the Harp from Clonakilty in West Cork via Wales, England, France, Switzerland and Italy to Rome. 157 days, 3.500 some kilometers, playing where ever we went. Ending singing in the Sisteen Chapel in the Vatican.

Teach, Learn, Share

Am always willing to share my art (=life) with anyone who wants to know. Music, sound, harp, recorders,writing, cooking, expression, stretching are all topics I can share about and enjoy learning about.

I'm always interested in learning more about meditation, yoga, travel experiences and opportunities to collaborate with artists from other disciplines.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Harp music, Bunting, O'Carolan, Alfredo Ortiz, traditional, folk, world, original material. Words... ...if there's anyone in your live who can benefit from some relaxation and stress relief I can share a session of harp meditation or maybe you'd like me to join your local session or you have an auntie who has never seen a harp from up close... :)
