Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am doing couchsurfing to get to know people all over the world. Our generation has the opportunity to travel and connect with other cultures, people and places in the world. That`s a big benefit of globalization and digitization. My opinion is to use this wisely and in a way to create social value. Couchsurfing is a possibility to get out of the commercial tourist market and create a new travel spirit - to slow down and get a authentic picture of a place you are new too. I know it sounds a little bit like a add for couchsurfing but I really see it that way.
When I did couchsurfing for the first time in colombia it was the best way for me to connect with people and to have a look behind the scenes of this beautiful country and culture. Comparing that with a stay at an hostel hit me in a very positive way.
I had some time out of the travel scene in the last few years but now I want to get into it again and start hosting people in Berlin.
I am not doing CS because of a free accommodation but to get to know people all around the world. You never will make those experiences when you just staying in hostels.
I met people which really want to show you their country and way of living. This is also when I am hosting someone. It is not only having a free couch to sleep on but also having long conversations, cooking together, spending some time to get to know and learn from each other.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To make something special you just have to believe it is special!
One thing I will never forget is hiking the Jakobsweg in Portugal alone. This brought me to the edge of fighting in myself to not give up. It was really painful in the end because I walked long distances - 20-35 km per day. My body was not used to walk these distances...but I made it and ended up at the "end of the world" at Finisterre in Spain.
