About Me

I love hanging out with my friends and family, I'd love to see every inch of this world, but know that this will probably never happen. I just want to see a lot of our world and meet a lot of different people. I'm also really into music, at the moment I got a thing for M83, Justice, The XX, First Aid Kit, Fanfarlo, Friska Viljor and Den Svenska Björnstammen. But yeah, some bands are alltime favourites, others I'm listening to over and over for a while and kinda get replaced by others. Just like to discover new things :) I also love to read, I'm really into American literature at the moment (Kerouac, Ginsberg, Thompson).

I currently live in Geneva and study Development Studies at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. Before, I studied political science and history in Zurich and one semester in Lund, Sweden. Then I took two years off and did internships at the Swiss Social Democratic Party, the Foreign Ministry of Switzerland and the Berne Declaration, a Swiss NGO.

Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies and I spend as much time doing it as possible. I love the nordic countries, and after spending more or less time in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway, I finally fulfilled a live-long dream and went to Iceland last summer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started couchsurfing in summer 2010, when a friend of mine and I did a Sweden-Interrail trip. The summer after that (2011), I surfed a couple couches in Finland and Sweden (again :) ). In 2012 it was France and London, Morocco in 2013, Budapest in 2014. I think it's the best way to discover a city and its real, non-touristy side.

Interests

Music is my favorite way to spend my time. So is hanging out with my friends and my familiy. I also enjoy reading and learning about other cultures. But my favorite thing to do is horseback riding through the woods and fields of rural Zurich.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Arctic Monkeys, Friska Viljor, Kasabian, M83, Naked and Famous, Mumford & Sons, and on and on and on.

To go out, I love electronic music, dubstep, but I'm really fed up with all the radio-hits always being played. So annoying!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My life is strongly influenced by my closest friends and my family. There is not a specific moment I could recall, but the feeling, when I returned from Sweden and saw them all again, just made my day!

Another, quite recent moment was a canoe-tour in Southern Sweden, which took me back to nature and the edge of civilization. I enjoyed the clean and quiet atmosphere, and the feeling of being away from daily life and society for a couple of days.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Sweden, Switzerland, United States
