Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try not to just offer a couch. We Indians are always honoured to have guests. But I prefer if they feel free enough to be really comfortable and put their feet up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing guests were so inspired by the film Slumdog Millionaire that I took them to Dharavi - Asia's biggest slum. I never thought that would be a tourist attraction!

Interests

I'm interested in a very wide variety of things. I have lived most of my childhood outside India so I like to think I have a liberal & global viewpoint. I love fashion, watching TV, travelling... my interests keep changing all the time and my job does too. I have a hunger for learning, but not so much academically.

I don't enjoy partying much because I find it pretty superficial and I hate throwing up the next morning!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Big Fish, The English Patient, Breakfast at Tiffany's
Music: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Counting Crows; I basically love 90's folk & alternative rock and 80's pop. I also sometimes like hiphop & jazz so I guess classical music is the one thing I don't really care for. Unfortunately, my brother is a classical musician!
Books: Wuthering Heights, Lolita, The End of an Affair, anything by Somerset Maugham, Roald Dahl & Graham Greene. I love classics and am not really fond of modern novels, barring a few exceptions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once locked a burglar in my bedroom when he came in through the window!
