ABOUT ME

I'm an equally calm and vivacious person that knows how to enjoy an afternoon coffee in the sun as much as a night of jumping around to great music. I moved to Montreal recently from Vancouver for grad school, but hated it so am now working on a project about Story and Public Space.

PHILOSOPHY

Relax, don't push, take opportunities and never look back. I really don't need much to be happy. Just give me some danceable music and a few friends or family members, throw in something good to eat and drink and we're set! My travel philosophy is very much the same. I don't like too much sight seeing. Give me one sight to see in two or three days and let me wander the place the rest of the time and I'll leave feeling like I really got to know it. No rush!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in San Diego and San Francisco, and have 'accidentally' hosted surfers in Vancouver. I've been out of the couchsurfing world for a year or so because of a lot of moving around (not the same as traveling), but am ready to get back in there. First stop, NYC!

Intereses

DANCE - salsa, bachata, samba, cumbia, ballet, swing, and more.

MARTIAL ARTS - I have a background in Jeet Kune Do as well as a little Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Capoeira, and most recently, Ninjitsu. But just a little ;)

SPOKEN WORD - I love writing in general, but spoken word poetry is truly the way I express myself. I've started performing recently and am keen to do it as much as possible everywhere I can.

HEALING - I have my first degree Reiki certification and am very into Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and more.

I appreciate almost any kind of music but I really love anything with a danceable rhythm! A few of many: The Doors, Goran Bregovic, Ben Harper, RHCP, MGMT, Lila Downs, Adele, Caetano Veloso, Tribalistas, Jack Johnson, and the list goes on..

I played nurse to a jungle surgery involving a hotel sewing kit, a drunk ex-reality TV contestant, way too much Thai whiskey and a bowl of squirrel curry. Top that :P

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can definitely teach you how to protect yourself using a wonderful array of knees and elbows, some semi-basic dance moves, swear words in Croatian, and Reiki.

Anything you are willing to teach me is wonderful! Music is something I've always been interested in and have never known how to properly get into, so instruments and singing are appreciated.
