Overview
About Me
I graduated university a few years ago and I have since fallen in love with traveling which I have been doing on and off since. I recently decided to make the move to Taiwan in the hopes of finding an English teaching job and staying here for at least a year. I would love to study Chinese, learn more about Taiwanese culture, and improve myself in the process! I love meeting new people, trying new foods, and exploring new places!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfers a few years ago with the intention of using it on a European trip. I didn't have much luck in 2015 with it but I wanted to give it another shot in Taiwan and meet locals and foreigners with an interest in enjoying their experience in Taiwan/engaging in cultural exchange.
Interests
I love reading, chatting with new people, drinking craft beer, trying new foods, learning new languages, and expanding my horizons! I also enjoy baking and a good game of tennis but am open to trying basically anything!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am an avid reader who absolutely cannot pick a favorite book. However, I am a big fan of the Irish author Marian Keyes whose women's literature books I find funny and relatable. I love all different types of movies but particularly thrillers, comedies, dramas, and horror films. I enjoy American country music and listening to other people's favorite songs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've traveled solo all over Asia and Europe and overcome a lot of my fears in the process. Moving to Taiwan alone is my next big challenge!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am hoping to go to many different places and soak up different cultures, foods, and history! I am absolutely willing to share about my life and perspectives but I also see a great deal of value in listening. I am very open to learning about anything and making new friendships with people from all over the globe.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share about my culture and experiences as well as learn from hosts. I would prefer for the experience to be a mutual exchange of friendship and respect. I am a kind, courteous person who is open-minded to different cultures and perspectives. I am a fairly open person and I am excited to share my time and perspective with hosts.
