I enjoy dark humor and live somewhat of an amateur vampire lifestyle…usually sleep during the day if off work /whenever possible and usually stay up/go out/gym super late. Not a sun worshipper….unless I am in Miami.
You will definitely sleep well from your previous travels here if darkness and crypt like quietness are required.

My apartment is in North Park, a very central part of the city, nearby places include clubs and restaurants in downtown's Gaslamp area, Fashion Valley Mall, Viejas Arena, a hipster strip of eateries and nightlife, the Convention Center, Coronado Island & beach, Hillcrest, University Heights, South Park, Normal Heights, Snapdragon Stadium, Morley Field, Balboa Park, Old Town, SDSU, UCSD,Zoo, Sea World and beaches; Torrey Pines (Blacks Beach), La Jolla, Del Mar, Pacific Beach & Mt. Soledad are about 25 minutes by car
If you cannot walk there you can definately take a bus (two major bus lines near me) or a quick Uber/Lyft ride .
