ABOUT ME

I am Anjan Dutta, originally I am from Kolkata, India where I was born and brought up. But its more than two years I have been living in Barcelona, Spain where I am pursuing my PhD in Computer Science. Currently, I am a visiting researcher of the University of Münster and that´s why I am in Münster.
I like meeting with different people from different country, knowing their culture, language, lifestyle. CouchSurfing is a completely new idea to me and I feel it´s a interesting to bring the like minded people together and share some moments of their life.

PHILOSOPHY

"Don't just have careers or academic goals. Set goals for a balanced, successful life. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order. There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your break up. There is no fun driving a car when your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions."
It's ok, bunking a few classes in the university, scoring low in couple of papers, taking leave from work, enjoying with your friends, falling in love, fighting a bit with the loved ones. We are people and not programmed device. So I would rather say "don't be serious, be sincere".
This life is very short, it could end even shorter. So try to live every moment of your life to the fullest. Of course live it in your own way, how you like it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is my first time in CouchSurfing and I begin from Münster. Currently I am a visiting researcher of University of Münster and for that I am living in Münster in a student apartment. If anybody wants I will be happy sharing my apartment with him or her. It would not be a nice choice for comfort but full of hospitality.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a very beginner in CouchSurfing. I don't have any experience, neither in surfing nor in hosting. But I want to experience it since it's a nice way of knowing people from different parts of the world, their culture, language and life style. So please give me some chance to experience it.

Interests

I am very much interested about my professional work. Apart from that I find interests in knowing other people, their language, cultures, lifestyle, doing photography, listening music, attending concerts, eating outside and sometime clubbing, dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

About music, it depends upon my mood but usually I prefer music with good and simple lyrics. It could be soft romantic, pop. But in clubs I prefer going with rock with good bits.
I am not a book lover but I read some depending on the recommendation of my friends. The same I can say about movies too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I often feel of doing something amazing but its weird explaining them here. I think its very relative and person dependent how things become amazing. Something amazing to me may not be amazing to others.

Teach, Learn, Share

The best way to learn is to teach, so teaching is a continuous learning process and teaching is nothing but sharing the knowledge and the only source of true knowledge is experience. So I want to learn that I have not experienced and I want to share what I have experienced.
