ABOUT ME

Me and Marinus quited our jobs in september. This october we started travelling around the world (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand). www.mankerinus.wordpress.com We like outdoor activities/adventures al lot. Our last holiday we went biking in Toscany (Italy). Heavy stuff, those hills ;-)!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Good friends made us enthousiastic. They had great experiences in America and South-America. In august we had our first couchsurfers. We liked it a lot! We hope to host more travellers.

Interests

I like biking (in the Netherlands and other countries); family and friends; different cultures; meeting new people; stories of travellers; talking; reading; travelling; trying new things; music; theatre/cabaret.
Marinus likes riding his motor and bike. But he gets even more excited when there is a strong wind and he can go windsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Muse, The Bravery, Eddie Vedder, Placebo, the Killers and lots of other bands. We both like concerts and festivals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Sapa (Vietnam) we did an unplanned homestay. The family belonged to the Black Hamong, a hilltribe. The people were amazing. We were so lucky: the next day there was a annual boedhistic party. The people made new clothes for it. They killed a buffalo in a ceremonial way, they all drank ricewine and we had to drink with them of course :-). So we started at 9 am and were already a little bit drunk at 11 am ;-). It was one of the best days we had in Vietnam.

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking dutch food (Maybe we can make some for you when we surf your couch. We like 'stampot' a lot: its mashed potatoes with vegetables and meat, all mixed together). We also did a cookingcourse in Cambodia and Thailand. But we are not sure, how the dish will turn out, without any help ;-).
