Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tried couchsurfing for the first time in Grenoble, France, in 2008, (via the "hospitality club"-site) and had a great first experience.
Ever since I have been meeting inspiring fellow travellers all over the world, both surfing and hosting, starting in Chile during my studies, while working in Argentina, and studying again in Germany (in beautiful Konstanz!) and Turkey.

Interests

Exploring. Learning.
Languages and history.
Water sports, outdoor activities, dancing, capoeira.
I feel close to people who enjoy simple life, good food, good wine, good conversations and who appreciate the beauty of nature.
I enjoy learning about music, especially jazz, flamenco, and bossa nova. I love percussion and guitar, the music by Canadian Jesse Cook is combining this wonderfully. I enjoy nightlife in general: bar nights, theatre, milonga nights, cooking nights, but will also get up really early in the morning for a run or a hiking tour.
I like the abundance of inspiration, dynamics and opportunities in big cities, but there have to be escapes to calm and green environments from time to time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies in which food plays a major part, like "Chocolat", "Bella Martha", "Soul Kitchen" or "A Touch of Spice", French movies, Independent films. Wonderful is the Japanese film "Departures". I also enjoy political thrillers and old classics like "Casablanca" or "The Great Dictator".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing from Germany to Denmark, and from Holland to England on a traditional tall ship with a crew of 56 was a truly amazing experience for me.
I also worked as a volunteer on an oyster farm on a beautiful small Scotish island (Woofing).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make fancy crepes, German style - "Apfelpfannekuchen" !

"The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know", still I love learning.

I want to share my experiences and my curiosity for the world .

What I Can Share with Hosts

Exchange of ideas, experiences, views, sailing knots, capoeira lyrics, help in the kitchen, running exercises, the amazement about the world we are living in...
