I like to call myself a teacher on the run (psst...that's my Instagram bio too). Teaching is something I enjoy to the core, which is why I am in France right now, teaching 12-15 year old kids. In addition, I wish to travel and explore different cultures.
I am a 25 year old from India and have lived in many cities there; as a student, for my profession and to solely travel. I am keen to learn more languages, Mandarin first and then some Indian languages too. I love reading, mostly classics, and these days I have started taking interest in Netflix (Orphan Black, anyone?). I enjoy my mug of beer in the company of like-minded people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling. When I left India, I had decided that travelling would be the one thing that I would put my heart into. It's just not France that I want to visit, but the neighbors too. I am going to be here for eight months and I know that CS is going to act wing-man for me.
Apart from this, I want to share my culture with the people I meet. My students in France have made me realize how one different culture can be curious to know about another one and how it creates a bond.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am more of a books person but I do have some movies in mind that have touched my mind. The latter would be the 'Before Sunrise' series, because it holds memories for me and 'The Bridges of Madison County.'
My favorite books are 'The Alchemy of Desire' by Tarun Tejpal and 'The Little Prince' by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
I wouldn't list any favorite music because I love dancing more than listening to music. I'm sure you've heard of Bollywood dance numbers...

I would love to learn cooking techniques and recipes of the places I visit and share Indian culture.
I know learning a new language is a hard task, but I would be delighted to learn some new words and phrases in different languages and teach some from mine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am quite adjusting and am wary of people's comfort. It would not be difficult to have me around :D
