About Me

CURRENT MISSION

If you can dream it, you can do it.

ABOUT ME

Open and curious

Interests

Art, history, heritage and philosophy, of course, clean (ecological) travels around the world, borderzones, closing the door behind me and hiking or cycling with a vague, but not fixed goal, trying not to carry too much luggage and survive with what nature can provide, organic cooking, not much meat, experience culture in an active and creative way; photography, writing, associations; meeting people and learn from other lifestyles, yoga = a lifestyle!; I follow a training (Yoga Vedanta, Shivananda) in an Ashram in Belgium. And furthermore, dancing, moving, many dreams, so still a lot to realize; Oh, and as Belgian, I know all about chocolate, beer and 'frieten'!

Music, Movies, and Books

Different kind of music styles, I am more critical on how music is performed. Also, my music choice is often related to the people I know/meet and the countries I visit; for example classical Schubert, the harmonica jazzy tunes of Toots Thielemans, the vibrant rhythm and passion of Femi Kuti, Gnouia, The Wolf Banes "As the bottle runs dry", something of the ’80 New Wave period; Nena, Bowie, Tocotronic, The Whodads, Internationals, ska in general, Gnaoua trance music and.... recently I'm fond of Bhangra!;
Films; Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche in Chocolate, the young Jack Nicholson in short pants acting in Michelangelo Antonioni’s The Passenger, Molière (Laurent Tirard), strong history films like Das leben der Anderen and Sophie Scholl, semi-docu's, for example Les glaneurs et la glaneuse( Agnes Varda), The story of the weeping camel, Shadows of Time (Florian Gallenberger, Le temps qui reste(François Ozon), Uccellacci e uccellini (P.P. Pasolini, "Dove va l’ umanita? Boh!" < interview Mao Tze Tung with Edgar Snow), Lust Caution (Ang Lee), Rosetta (Luc en Jean-Pierre Dardenne), The Return (Andrej Zvjagintsev)
Lecture: the weekend newspaper with a tasty cup of coffee and a piece of chocolat!, books on art, culture and philosophy like The Art of Loving (Erich Fromm), The Bhagavad Gita, Corto Maltese and Satrapi, a good Novel like The White Tiger of Aravind Adiga or why not even Treasure Island ...
