About Me
Hi, I'm Ann-Julie (or just Anny). I am a quite optimistic and enthusiastic person who enjoys the company of others and getting to know new perspectives on basically anything.
Currently, I study English and maths to become a teacher. I'm in Ireland right now to improve my English communication skills and because I really enjoyed my last Ireland trip last year!
But I want to see so much more of the world: I'd love to travel the whole African continent, particularly South Africa and Namibia, and see more of Europe. To be honest, I would love to travel the whole world;)
Other than dreaming about travelling the world (and actually travelling, of course) I love making music together, so if you like to have a little jam session every now and then, count me in!
Over the past few years, I got into watersports (surfing, windsurfing, SUPing), but I also really enjoy long walks on the beach or in the mountains.
In winter, I like to ski, but I also enjoy staying inside with a cup of tea and a book or a movie or just someone to chat with! I'm also a big fan of basically any kind of game: card games, board games, charade,...you name it.
Well, I don't know what's left to say other than that I'm looking forward to meet you😊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't just want to get to know Ireland from a tourist perspective but experience the "real" Ireland

Music, Movies, and Books
- Documentaries about nature (highly recommend "Russia from above" and the David Attenborough series on Netflix!)
- "The Devil's Advocate" with Al Pacino (great actor, that guy...)
- trash movies that are better than "actual" movies about a certain topic (Zombieland)
- books: so many! I used to read much more when I was younger and really enjoyed the Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi... though I kind of grew out of it I still enjoy it. Now I mostly listen to audiobooks (sad, I know) and I really love the Harry Hole series by Jo Nesbø.
- music: love listening to and making music. Genre: varied. Unless you're serving me German Schlager, I'll probably like it to at least some extent;) What I really enjoy: 60s, Rock, Folk, Reggae, Punk Rock, Indie, Irish Trad..Dire Straits are one of my favourites
