À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

To catch the trade winds in my sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Regensburg, Germany, but l-o-v-e to travel the globe. So far, I've been to a couple of countries in Europe (including France, Spain, Corsica, Switzerland, Austria, etc.), traveled to Singapore, and lived in the United States and Costa Rica for some time.
Right now I'm studying in Portland OR. I actually fell in love with the West Coast, last year while staying in Berkeley, CA. So, it's great to be back, visit friends, and travel some more. There is still so much to see in the US and I'm absolutely looking forward to meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

My favorite quote by Mark Twain:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream.
Discover.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have to admit that I'm an absolute 'greenhorn' here... I let friends visit before and visited friends, of course. So why not, invite people from all over the world and visit them in return. Right now, I'm traveling. But as soon as I am back in Portland, I'm very much looking forward to invite people to the City of Roses and foster its mission - Keep Portland Weird.

Centres d'intérêt

Traveling - of course. I'm very much into Gender and Women's Studies (and not afraid of calling myself a feminist, either) as well as US Popular Culture. I love to go to the movies, get together with friends, cook, and enjoy a glass of good wine (especially from Napa Valley). I like to go out and party - but wouldn't call myself a 'party animal' (I'm passed that age - I have to admit).

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

When I was eleven I managed to set off the alarm at the world-famous Louvre in Paris. I just wanted to have a closer look at Monet's Sea Roses, got too close to the painting, and an earsplitting alarm went off. But I went quickly enough to the other room so that my parents never found out that it was me.
