I am currently studying molecular medicine at the University of Tübingen. I am curious, openminded and tolerant. I am not the loudest person in a room but I enjoy good conversation. I have two Main Coon cats. Laluna and Kaycee can always make me smile with their antics. Following the News or reading the newspaper is not one of my specialties...so I am sometimes not the best informed. It is nor out of a lack of interest but rather me forgetting that the News are on or getting distracted by something else I am reading or doing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I came to Couchsurfing to find places to stay during my travel. I would like to return the favor one day and offer my home to travelers but at the moment it is not feasible.

Interests

I simply love to read almost anything I can get my hands on. I am kind of curious, not in a gossipy way but learning new things, reading a word, a concept I do not know and just researching it until I have at least a vague idea about it. I can be slightly lazy and am not particularly interested in sports, but I do enjoy hockey and follow the Pittsburgh Penguins.
I also enjoy singing. I have been in a choir in my hometown for more than 20 years now and am happy any time I manage to attend practice.
I rarely have the chance to do so anymore but I used to do archery and enjoy it quite a bit.

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Potter is probably one of my favorite book series. Otherwise I mostly enjoy crime novels, maybe with some romance smattered in.
Movies I enjoy are the BBC Sherlock episodes and the marvel productions. I am also a fan of the old, and in parts of the new, animated Disney films.
I enjoy to read and watch other genres too, but it always depends on my mood.
The kind of music I listen too is relatively diverse, mostly I like to listen to rock, may it be classic, alternative or indie music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled with my choir and seen quite some places and met amazing people, especially children's choirs on the way. I think the most amazing and emotional thing was our trip to a township in Cape Town, where the people shared the little food they had with us, sang with us and the children played with us. We also sang for the bedridden patients suffering from AIDS in their small infirmary. I learned a lot, it was amazing and humbling.

I am always happy to learn new things and about new cultures or customs.
I can share my experiences and my culture and teach german (at least one should think so since it is my mothertongue).
