I'm Ann and I'm a mental health therapist who just recently completed grad school. I am currently planning a cross-country road trip with my partner Fabian for his move to California for a post-doc. We are hoping to meet new people and explore new cities throughout this trek from one coast to the other. In terms of languages spoken, I am fluent in Chinese (Mandarin and Shanghainese) and English,and Fabian is fluent in German, French, and English ..I'm also re-attempting to learn Spanish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because staying in a motel room every night on a road trip takes most of the fun out of it. We plan on alternating between couchsurfing, camping, and staying with friends....going to a motel or hotel will be our last resort since that takes a lot of the fun out!

Interests

I danced classical ballet for 12 years and then was a competitive international latin ballroom dancer (starting in undergrad). Fabian enjoys being outdoors, camping, and all things silly or nerdy (he's gotten me to watch Star Wars!) We also both enjoy cooking, eating, finding obscure places to visit, and having good conversations.

Music, Movies, and Books

Taste in music is fairly eclectic...we like many things ranging from classical to punk rock to hip hop to random re-mixed Eastern European countries for ballroom dancing. Movies wise we like low-brow comedies (great way to turn off the brain) and cartoons. We also individually like a wide array of other genres as well but tend to have difficulty agreeing beyond the aforementioned categories:-)

Silly stories, open-mindedness, a listening ear (after all I do this for a living;-)), a sense of adventure, and maybe even a new friendship!
