HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking to broaden my world, speak (or at least understand) more languages, and become a multi-faceted person by seeing through other's experiences and world views. I had great experiences while abroad and want to be able to give back now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Minimal: I've surfed a few times though and all have been great. I have been a helper for a family in Spain with the website 'help exchange' as well.

兴趣

Painting/drawing, photography, design, architectural theory, snowboarding, backpacking/camping, urban exploration, and I'm starting to enjoy cooking! I try to challenge myself physically and mentally, engage all that is visually compelling, remain present and aware while learning from the surroundings, challenges, and people I come in contact with. I am also attracted to wine and cheese.

Just finished the Camino de Santiago and the sights along the way were incredible! The landscape of Spain is very diverse, and the world is put into proportion when you walk it. In France, I spent a few nights in the Brociliande forest imagining it was still possible for magical things to happen.

I process the world as a spatial composition and I am most happy when I am making something. It is hard to make definitive pieces when traveling, so I sometimes photograph landscape/still-lifes to paint when I get home. My favorite artistic endeavor while traveling is to create "centerpieces" for dinners with the natural supplies found in whatever region I pass through. Then with a photo, I have a memory of the event, the landscape, the flora/fauna, and the piece of me that exists in the object I've made in space and time.
