About Me

Heyho Couchsurfers!

I'm Anna, friendly and open-minded person.
Originally from Berlin, feeling at home at many places, everywhere where people I love are. Sometimes I'm a bit crazy, but I think life is more fun if you don't do things just the way people expect you to do them. Living in Leipzig I am studying political science, trying to understand what people thought about people living together in society, in order to have a better understanding of where to change something in this world that seems like a circus ( not a very funny though) right now, if one watch or read news.
I love cooking which I also sometimes do for my work, helping at seminars for people from all over the world volunteering in germany. I would love to learn arabic and portuguese, also spanish, school sadly only taught me latin and ancient greek, which I don't even really know. So however, I decided to start learning french and the other languages will follow.
I love summer nights and spring, forgetting time while talking through nights, I don't like Dogmas - get to know me and you'll know more ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

However much inside of me doesn't really like to share things about my character detailed online - I decided couchsurfing is worth it. Already used it long time before I had a profile, informally or together with friends and always thought I should have a profile myself. I think its a wonderful anti-capitalistic way to meet people and what could be a better way to learn about places than to meet people living there.

Interests

I like books, music, languages, dancing - I think in the end what I am interested in is learning about people and ways of living. And if I would have more time, first thing I would do is start sewing again - honouring the poor sewing machine which is standing in my room not really being used..
I would also love to learn about perma culture and other ways of organic farming as I think its somehow crazy to be living in a world where we depend on going to the supermarkets finding food there not even being able to use our hands.

Music, Movies, and Books

Best movie ever is still Fight Club. Also love Broken Circle Breakdown though. For Books and music, there are many I like, I am not very picky. My favourite poems are from Hart Crane and Pippi Langstrumpf will always be my hero. For music: Amy Winehouse and Seeed will always be great, apart from that I can always annoy you with tanzanian Bongo Flava - sunshine music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I could write driving through Ngorogoro crater - that was pretty amazing indeed. Nature anyway is amazing! But actually when I think of amazing things in my life I have to think of singing and making poetry with elderly and disabled people in London which made me understand how easy it is to make people smile and how happy it can make you yourself, or having a water fight with the kids in Tanzania, or even playing a drinking game in the park at my birthday years ago wearing snowclothes - because my birthday was always the beginning of spring which I love and we wanted to find a way not to accept that the weather wasn't like spring.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happiness is not what you have - it depends on what you think. It comes to us in those moments, we can neither plan it nor really hold it. Best we can do is being concious of it and enjoying it when its there.
