About Me

CURRENT MISSION
planning my vacation in Andalusia.

ABOUT ME
I consider myself a very open-minded, adaptable person. Respect and kindness are one of the most important aspects of being a person, for me, and you can never practice it enough :-) I love animals, nature and big families - but also enjoy lazy days on the couch. Always trying to be the best version of my current self.
At home, I only shop vegetarian, but I do eat meat if the local cuisine requires it. Same goes for veganism or other requests - I don't have any allergies or food intolerances (trying to be tolerant around people, why start with food?).
I also don't mind standing next to smokers outside, but can't stand smoking inside.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interests

I sing a lot when I'm alone... depending on the people around me I also sing a lot when I'm not alone. So feel free to mute me at any time. Love being outside (most of all with someone else), going out with friends, and animals (especially dogs & cats). Also trying to start learning (German) sign language and teaching German, but that hasn't worked out yet. I'm obviously a huge fan of traveling and meeting new people, but I also enjoy the quiet beauty of nature, depending on the season, trip and/or country.
Talking non-sense with some awesome people or philosophizing about the answer to life, the universe and everything - or more important/interesting things - are favorite passtimes of mine. There are a few people who love to jump from one topic to next one and I fairly enjoy that as well - but I can retain myself if needed.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I decline everything that consists only of a beat and electric sounds or is without a melody. Everything else: YES! When I'm on my own, a country song might follow a metal one, then classical choir music, hard rock, ballads, love mixing them. I normally behave myself around new people though.
Movies: The Sting, Lucky # Slevin, Mary Poppins, Deadpool, The Holiday, Arsenic and Oldlace, Scent of a Woman, Inside Out, Sherlock, Modern Family, Supernatural, Parks and Rec, Firefly, Community.
Books: A time to kill (John Grisham), Me Before You (Jojo Moyes), Momo (Michael Ende), Mort (Terry Pratchett), Harry Potter (Joanne K. Rowling)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

realizing what it means to see a proud elephant in the wild.

Teach, Learn, Share

teach what I know about my languages, music and random other stuff (love me some useless facts),...
learn about culture, cooking, living environment, skills, knick-knacks,...
share music, blankets, food, bike, ...

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lot of times, I travel very lightly, so music or stories might be all I have with me.
Helping is always something that I can do, though. So washing the dishes, walking the dog, helping with (home)work, translating, ...
