Overview
About Me
I am a third year student on exchange from the US in Edinburgh, Scotland. I love reading, music of all types, exploring the outdoors, and seeing the world.
My all time favorite book is Lolita and beautiful architecture makes me melt.
I love meeting and getting to know people from around the world. Cultural exchange is a beautiful art that I hope to take advantage of during my year abroad.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people I'd otherwise never had the opportunity to come across.
When I studied in Germany and Austria, I lived with wonderful host families who took me in like one of their own. They changed my life...I always had a reason to go to those countries, but the people I met gave me a reason to come back.
Although couchsurfing is a bit different, I want to create that unique connection when I visit somewhere...and have someone who is the reason to return.
Also PSA: I am new to couchsurfing so I am not sure if it's best to send messages before asking for a formal request. I promise I'm not trying to be creepy if I message you before a request!

Music, Movies, and Books
How can you ask an English major for her favorite book? That's so hard! Actually, no...Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. But I also love the New York City Poets, Romantic Poets, Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Middlemarch, the list goes on.
Music is a bit strange. I was raised playing and singing classical music. So Herbert Howells takes the cake for choral music, but Dvorak is the best orchestral composer. Besides classics, I love jazz, the Beatles, Hoodie Allen, show tunes, Madonna, Celtic music, Kendrick Lamar, A capella arrangements, Maroon 5....I guess a bit of everything.
As for movies...80's classics all the way. John Hughes is my spirit animal.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I stood for 36 hours straight raising money and entertaining children who were seriously ill...twice...and it remains one of the best, most rewarding experiences of my life.
FTK all the DM day.
(Aka "for the kids" all the "dance marathon" day)
