About Me

I study global studies and community planning. I'm really interested in transportation policy. I wouldn't be planning on doing a career in that field if I hadn't traveled and seen the different possibilities for transportation.
I really like bicycles. I think they are wonderful.
At my university, I work at the outdoor adventures center. I really enjoy being in nature, whether that's on a canoe, strolling or biking on trails.
From July to December of 2018, I will be studying abroad in Amsterdam. Very excited for the cheese.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my experience, the best way to understand a place and a culture is to talk to people. It's amazing the different perspectives people have. Through conversation you can begin to understand that perspective and the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like Harry Potter and fantasy books, like Ella Enchanted. I also really enjoy nonfiction, such as books by Michael Pollen.
My favorite movie is the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. The music, the cinematography, just all of it is amazing.
I mostly listen to indie folk music, like the Head and the Heart.
My younger siblings are really into Hamilton, so I can sing along to almost any song from the musical.
I also enjoy some German pop songs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent ten days canoeing down the Rio Grande.

Teach, Learn, Share

Brené Brown's TedTalk, entitled "The Power of Vulnerability" shares an idea that has had a huge impact of my life: that connecting with other people is very important in life and that connection comes from vulnerability. I highly encourage you to look up the talk!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I really enjoy discussing life and almost anything. I think politics is really interesting. Since I study politics, I can have a informed conversation about US politics.
I also really enjoy trying new things and foods and learning about the world.

I also really like to cook and would definitely cook for hosts. I am a vegetarian, and am not very good at cooking meat, though.
