Overview
About Me
I am a 23 year old woman, studying anthropology in Aarhus in Denmark. The last semester I have been studying in Amsterdam and I will start a master degree in anthropology this year.
Daily I am engaged in several organizations in which I volunteer and am facilitating activities for children and people of my own age. Right now I am in a group, where we are planning tours for the purpose of cultural exchange and to encourage the participants to make a difference in their local environments. Yeah, that's me, a naive fool, who actually thinks we can change the world for the better.
After college I had a gap year before starting the more serious life of studying. Gap year is rather common in Denmark, where people spent half a year earning money and the next half year to spend them - I am not an exception in that matter. The half year of spending money and enjoying I spend at what we in Denmark call a højskole, which can be best explained as a boarding school, where young people are living together with the purpose of getting to know each other and oneself, get inspired and inspire each other - sounds corny I know, but I really had a great time! My stay also had the purpose to prepare a two month long trip to Ghana and a general understanding of development studies, which indeed inspired me to study anthropology, where cultural exchange is in focus.
Due to my studies I have been in Nepal to get the experience of studying with people from another part of the world and to study another culture. In general I find other perspectives and understandings really interesting and inspiring and I might be a bit naive, when I am saying that most conflicts could be solved by a better communication and understanding of each other.
I live in a flat with three other students with shared facilities, so unfortunately I'm not able to host myself.
I see myself as an open and joyful person, interested in other people.
