About Me
Hi beautiful people,
My name is Anna-Katharina, but my friends tend to call me Katani, and I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. Currently just finished my second year as a Clinical Psychology student at a British University and training to become a low intensity therapist for depression and anxiety disorders, although I want to go on to train as a trauma counsellor later in life. (people always think psychologist can read minds - don't worry we can't :P)
I’m a life lover looking for summer adventures travelling through Spain and I am also hoping to re-connect with nature after too many hours spent inside the library in front of my computer screen. I just wanted to challenge myself to try something new and unfamiliar, which is why I am traveling through Spain by myself and doing some workaday experiences. I like to live a holistic lifestyle and hence also adapt a holistic mind-set, seeing every difficulty along the way as a chance for growth and accepting everyone I meet along my journey as a teacher.
My passions and interests are manifested in:
- healthy, clean, plant based vegan food
- natural chemical-free beauty and making my own cosmetics from plant-sources
- experimenting with aromatherapy and different essential oils
- researching sustainability matters and campaigning for change (my last big project involved reducing plastic waste and banning micro plastics from our campus)
- finding inner peace through meditation and yoga
- holistic healing and alternative medicine
- human rights (I am part of Amnesty International and always trying to find ways to bring about justice)
- trying to do what I can do to make this world a little bit of a better place
- Above all I love engaging with people
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I wanted to have cool summer adventures where I push myself to do something I've never done - and I've never tried couchsurfing, so here I am :) I love getting to know a culture or place through the engaging with the people actually living there, so that's why I think Couchsurfing is such a great thing :)

How about we have chat about that when we meet, I think the list is endless :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Won an award for Campaign of the Year at my University because I organised a huge campaign to make people be more aware of their plastic waste and offer them alternatives (running workshops, speeches, film screenings, stalls, etc) and also making the whole university ban microplastics :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you some German or English :)
I can also teach you some vegan cooking and we can meditate or do yoga together :)
I think in general having nice conversations and philosophising about life is something I'm pretty good company for :)
