About Me

Hello, Privet, Salem,

I am Anna and together with my husband Eugen I've been traveling the world full-time since 2018. We have been on the road for such a long time because of curiosity and the desire to get to know the world outside of our bubble.

We are an honest, respectful, open hearted and humble couple, who is always interested in the stories of the people we meet along our journey. We love the exchange, we love to learn from others and we love to help wherever we can.

At the moment we are about to start our way back to Germany, going through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. So we are particularly looking for people willing to host us in these countries so we can experience their local culture and get a glimpse inside their lives.

Side-fact: I was born in the town of Stepnagorsk in Kazakhstan and my husband Eugen was born in Petrov Val in Russia. Our families have a Wolga-German background and decided to move to Germany in the mid 90s. So we do speak Russian (not perfect, but it's alright though) and grew up with Beshbarmak, Manti and Plow.

If you would like to have a better idea of who we are, you are welcome to have a look on our Instagram page and our Youtube-Channel, where we have started to document our journey back to Germany. Videos are in German, but English and Russian subtitles are available and are not too bad.

Really hope to see you soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love to meet people from all over the world and immerse in different cultures and countries. We realized that traveling doesn't make us happy by going to picture-perfect-Instagram-places. For us this way of life is only enriching by dive as deep as possible in the culture of a country. So that's what we try to do. And we hope Couchsurfing will open up new opportunities of traveling deep below the surface and help us to connect to inspiring people.

Would be great if we could improve our Russian and learn some Kazakh. In exchange we are happy to teach some German.
