I'm working around the world since I graduated with a degree in winemaking in 2014. I have worked in Patagonia (Argentina), Marlborough (New Zealand), and the Medoc (Bordeaux, France). I love learning new languages and meeting new people.

I am a scientist (microbiology), an artist (I draw portraits and I'm learning to draw comics), and I play the banjo and write songs. I love meeting other scientists and creative types.

My favorite part of traveling is meeting new people. I love to talk to locals about the places I visit, because they have the best insight. I am also very independent and I have no trouble getting around unfamiliar cities. I am looking for a safe place to stay and good personal connections.

I am very comfortable sharing space with others. I have lived in group houses and "couch surfed" with friends a lot in my life. I am clean, friendly, and kind. I am always happy to share a good conversation, and I respect people's space and privacy when they prefer to be alone.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I had never met my boss before I went to Argentina to work in a winery for the harvest, aside form one conversation through Skype. I jumped on a plane and flew to a town in the middle of nowhere, Patagonia. I lived near a river lined with farms and towns, but beyond the flood zone, it was all desert as far as the eye could see, so flat that it felt like staring at the ocean. The winery was just on the boundary of the lush river-oasis. Colorful parrots nested in the narrow desert canyons. The winemaker had a long and troubling history of the wines not fermenting to completion. I was hired to be like a detective and solve this mystery. I spent the whole harvest looking at wines under the microscope and doing little experiments. I made recommendations about sanitation and inoculation. In the end, all the wines went "dry" (the yeast fermented all the sugar to alcohol). Success! The winemaker and I celebrated by listening to old Michael Jackson songs and dancing around his house while singing like a couple of lunatics.
