Overview
About Me
I'm a 20 year old Journalism student at Emerson College. I write for all spheres of interest--from music, to politics, to opinionated think pieces. I've contributed articles for The Boston Globe as well as The Chicago Tribune, in addition to working as a writer and editor for the music section at my school's entertainment magazine. When I'm not writing, I love to travel. I love all the newness that comes with it. New languages, new faces, new cultures. Trying foods from myriad different backgrounds and hearing music I've never heard before--it's all so inspiring. I love dogs, coffee, and poetry. I'm a vegetarian, and a clean, quiet guest. I'd love to be welcomed into your part of the world. Unfortunately, with being a student comes lack of funds--I can't afford to pay the fee to be verified, but I hope my profile is extensive enough to earn your trust.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While travelling is an integral hobby of mine, the costs can run up rather quickly. But Couchsurfing doesn't just offer me a cost-effective place to rest my head--it also allows me to immerse myself in the place I'm visiting. Hotels are so sterile and stale...homes are filled with life, with memories, with real live residents of the area I've chosen to explore. They offer advice, recommendations, and, in opening their home to me, their hearts. I travel not only to see and experience new things, but to meet new people as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Vampire Weekend, Simon & Garfunkel, The Front Bottoms, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Arctic Monkeys, Violent Femmes, The Decemberists, Patti Smith...
Movies: Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, Amelie, Star Wars, The Way Way Back, Moonrise Kingdom, The Royal Tenebaums...
Books: The Secret History (Donna Tartt), A Heartbreaking Work Of Staggering Genius (Dave Eggers), The Interestings (Meg Wolitzer), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (Jonathan Safran Foer)...
And so many more, but these give a good scope of the genres I like best!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling alone is something that's not only incredibly dangerous, but taxing--emotionally and physically. There's no friend to make plans with, no confidant to confer with, no refuge. It's daring, it's emotional, and it can be one of the scariest things you ever do. But I'm so proud of myself for taking that step forward and putting myself into the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my own personal experiences with hosts--my travels, my hometown, things I've learned in school, the music and books I've consumed...I can share recipes, I can share my smile and my laughter...I can share my willingness to learn about them.
