About Me

We are Anna (32) and Thomas (34), two open-minded and open-hearted people, that are interested in getting to know different people, their cultures and their home-countries. We like travelling and seeing the world from different points of view. We are new to couchsurfing and this way of traveling, but we love the idea doing it like this and hope that we can learn a lot about other cultures and make some friends all over the world.

We personally live directly at the southern boarder of Vienna -it takes us 45 minutes to the city-center- and we would also enjoy to host interesting and open-minded people from all over the world as well-who are willing to share something with us. We believe this is a good way to travel without travelling and get to know more people and cultures. If you are into nature and life, culture and would like to discover more than just Vienna you are really welcome to stay with us. :)

When we travel we would like to understand a country and its people. We love to talk to people and listen to them (therefore we learn Spanish at the moment, other languages will follow) - hopefully we will soon be able to talk to even more people all over the world. ;).

We love to be in nature, like long walks and good talks. One of our smaller dreams is to go the “Santiago de Compostella“ and learn more about ourselves and more about life – hopefully we can do that next year in late summer.

We try to live a conscious life, practice yoga and simply enjoy life. That also is the reason why we quit our well payed jobs and started to work differently (on our own important matters) – now we are entrepreneurs in the food - and lifestyle business (plant-based food). Our personal motto is “Living the good life“ which means to us, that everybody has his purpose in life. In our means that purpose is following your dreams and make them come true.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are several reasons for couchsurfing: We believe in friendship and would like to find friends all over the world, because the best things in life are free and that it enriches your life to get to know people from all over the world.
We believe that we are „one world“ and that everybody can learn a lot through travelling. When we travel we don´t want to be „tourists“, rather we would like to be part of the country and understand it, so couchsurfing is a good way to experience it that way. We really love the talks with our hosts and guests, listen to their stories and understand their way of living. This is amazing and we don´t want to miss it anymore. :-)

We would like to share our thoughts and our home with people from all over the world, because we love to be in contact with people and enjoy to get to know stories from all over the world. And at least we believe that hosting people is also an interesting “kind of travelling“, if you are not able to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are many films that we like, but we love films to think about and that inspires us, so for example:
Dead poets society, Patch Adams, The Cove, Racing Extinction, An Inconvenient truth, Happy people - a year in the taiga, Gran Torino, Game of thrones, Lord of the rings, The Hobbit, etc., etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are so many experiences that we made and hope that some more will follow:

- Couchsurfing: We got to know amazing people from different countries and it was also an amazing experience to listen to them, to meet them as strangers and leave them as friends and get to know their stories.

- Giving German lessons to refugees, understanding them better and becoming friends with some of them.

- Talking to people in Romania about their life and see their attitude and their happiness after the fall of the iron curtain.

- Leaving behind our old jobs and follow our hearts on the route of our dreams and become inspired by amazing people who showed us what life is about and that we can/ should live it the way we want it to.

- Experiencing ourselves everyday and expanding our own views of life through the philosophy of yoga and its teachings.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since we are open-minded people we really love good conversations and learn something about life and how other people see the world.

We are currently learning Spanish and naturally are interested in some conversation to improve our skills.

We are open to whatever comes – let us see where it leads us to. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We love to cook and would really enjoy a nice meal together -so if possible and wished we would like to cook with our hosts. And for sure we can exchange travelling experiences, reciepes and personal views with one another.
At least a good time with a lot of laughts and interesting stories.
