ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Anna. I started traveling in September 2017 because I was tired of my life in Cologne - Germany. Working in a bank didn’t seem to be the right thing for me. I decided to leave this life behind and came to New Zealand, where I spend one and a half years! I had a magic time with heaps of adventures, inspiring people and amazing memories. Now I continue to travel the world!

My goal is to live a different lifestyle. I don't want to be part of a society where every next step is dictated and where people's only goal is to be successful in terms of money. For me success is to be free and live a life you love and enjoy!

I love being outside in nature - especially close to the ocean. I enjoy to do any kind of sports and I am always in for outdoor activities. Swimming, surfing, diving, hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking.. but I also enjoy calm moments reading, drawing, making jewellery, doing yoga and meditation (I would love to learn more!!). Another passion of mine is music, festivals and art! Any form of creativity inspires me. Conscious and sustainable living is very important to me - so I try to keep a vegan diet and keep improving my knowledge about how to live in balance with nature :-)

I really enjoy meeting people from different cultures - talk about ones life, views and experiences. I am an open-minded person who is always striving for new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

My life motto: Live in the presence, enjoy the now. I believe that life is too short to think about past or future. Focus on the present moment and you will experience constant peace within yourself.

I'm also convinced that everything in life is happening for a reason. When something negative happens to me I ask myself if I can change it - if not I try to accept it for what it is and move on. Better is to say there is no "negative" or "positive" experience, there is just experience!

I want encounter people with a positive and compassionate attitude, because I think that the energy you send out is the one that comes back to you 🌞

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I started using Couchsurfing regularly during my trip in Asia. I met soo many amazing people and made a lot of new friends! Without them my trip wouldn't have been the same. They welcomed me in their home like I am part of their family and I really appreciate these experiences. I want to continue meeting people this way, spending time together and continue to learn about new cultures and lifestyles. Make connections and friendships all over the world. Once I've settled down I would love to host people as well (the only question is where and when is this going to happen ;-))

I am open to all kind of music. It always depends on the place, time and the people around me. At the moment I listen mainly to rock, reggae and electronic music but my taste is always changing. I enjoy live music, unfortunately I can’t play an instrument by myself.

Books: I am interested in books, that are based on life stories, history, psychology and spirituality. Books, that help me to connect with my inner self and live a happy life. In my free time I like to read a lot! I prefer reading to watching series or movies.
