About Me

I won't be hosting until further notice because of family obligations! Hi everyone! Even though hosting is cool I'm able to host quite little at the moment because I'm out of town regularly and need to help my mother quite often. In addition, please only send me requests which are quite close to the requested date because I really don't know where I will be in a month or two =)

Anyway, enough about that. I am a globetrotting girl who has been living in Thailand but now I am living in my home country, in Helsinki, Finland, for an indefinite time.

I write a blog about my life, https://www.hammockstories.blog, please feel free to check it out! It tells about expat life in Thailand (especially on Koh Phangan), teaching in Thailand, yoga, my travels and also recently, about Finland, my home country. If you need any tips on what to do in Helsinki, please check it out!

I love travelling (obviously), new cultures, animals, good food and wine and sports, such as yoga and movement training. I also have a Thai mix dog that I love to bits. So if you don't like dogs or animal hair, perhaps this is not the right place for you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people and getting to know their cultures while travelling. It makes travelling so much more exciting and you can make friends for life! In addition, it's a cost-efficient way to travel as I am not super wealthy.
To be honest, I actually started Couchsurfing before it was even couchsurfing some 17 years ago when I offered my whole flat for a group of Italians who didn't have a place to stay in Helsinki because all the youth hostels were fully booked. When you trust the people and the universe, you get back multiple times!

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything pretty much! Electronic music, indie, reggae, hip hop, dancehall, rock, such as Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix. I love dancing as well (what a surprise, hehe). I love reading biographies but also sci-fi and historical literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taught Social Studies in Thailand. This included teaching Buddhism to Thai kids. What an experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and baking and I often show my appreciation through these two. I am also able to tell about my life in Thailand, Finland, my travels or tell about blogging and various ways to earn money as a digital nomad. Perhaps even a yoga lesson migth come into question, time permitting.
