About Me

New to couchsurfing and awful at writing summaries.
I'm a 20 year old Australian, grew up for a few years in Brisbane but now living in Melbourne. I'm taking a year off from studying Biomedical Science to travel a bit of Europe and South America.
My dad's French so I've been lucky enough to be able to learn French and visit Europe lots of times with my family and now by myself. Every time I've come and in every country I've visited I love that I can discover new cultures and hidden corners of the city. But hands down I reckon the best thing about travelling is the people you meet and the little challenges along the way that make you push yourself a little out of your comfort zone.
I'm very easily satisfied and am happy to g out for a couple drinks, check out some new places, or just cook at home and swap stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a huge fan of hostels, they're a great way to meet people who are doing the exact same thing as you.
However, I always seem to fall in with Australians and do the classic tourist things. I think couch surfing is just a better way to meet locals who have a different kind of experience of the city. Living like a local is the best way to visit a country, to get a really good idea of the culture and everything it has to offer.

I also know that every single person I've met who lives in Barcelona has an awesome lifestyle and loves this funky city. Would be a bonus if I could learn a couple words of Spanish or Catalan.

I've met some incredibly interesting people with crazy stories so whenever I'm back to Melbourne I'd gladly make my couch available.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music is honestly the biggest jumble of stuff and always influenced by whoever I'm hanging out with at the time. I love a lot of Australian indie bands, old classics, and anything out of a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack. I'm definitely the type to play one song on repeat until I'm sick of it and can't hear it for another 6 months. Also a sucker for live music- any genre at any time of night or day.
I couldn't say what my favourite movie is, often I just watch the same shitty romcoms over and over when I don't want to be concentrating on anything too hard.
My fave books are 'A picture of Dorian Gray', 'God of Small Things', and the cutest little french novel, 'La Dame Rose'. Currently in the market for a good new book so very keen to hear some suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a bit of solo travel but I'd say all of my most amazing moments involve ridiculously beautiful scenery and a bit of a thrill.

Teach, Learn, Share

Don't think there's anything I enjoy more than having a good chat and a laugh, listening to other peoples' stories and opinions. I am at a point where I really want to figure out what to do with my life so I love hearing about other people's paths and how they've come to be where they are.
I love etymology and languages so I'd love to learn some Spanish or help you with English or French.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully a fun time. Fancy myself as a bit of a cook so I wouldn't say no to whipping something up in the kitchen or giving a helping hand with anything around the house.
