Music, Movies, and Books

I have a fairly eclectic taste in these catagories. Anything that feels abstract or colorful to experience is my cup of tea, and If it makes me feel something deeply I appreciate it even more.

Teach, Learn, Share

While in college, I taught Gymnastics and fundamental movement skills to kids with/without disabilities. I have always enjoyed working with people, and found a lot of joy working with kids. After graduating, I was a health coach for people wanting to improve their gut and overall health with the absence of fad diets and restrictive practices. I took a break from teaching/coaching for a while, and traveled to India to study Yoga. I taught online yoga classes for some time and traveled North America for 2 years out of my van during Covid. After that nomadic period of life, I became a Physical education teacher for 150 students at a K-12 charter school. I nannied 2 wonderful kiddos for a year and used all of my skills to enrich their lives as well.
Now I teach life/behavior skills to kids with Autism. I work with my clients to give them a better quality of life. I help lead them in learning about themselves through exploration of their interests and motivations. I teach them social skills and ways of communicating with the world around them to build confidence and a greater sense of self. I teach them ways to cope and communicate so that they can get their needs met without maladaptive behaviors affecting themselves or others. While I may be their behavioral therapist, they all think of me as their "life coach" who listens to them, laughs with them, and challenges them to be better versions of themselves. I teach my clients that their "weaknesses" can really be their greatest strengths. It's been the most fulfilling work I've ever done, not only because I have improved their lives, but because they have improved mine too. They may learn from me, but without a doubt have I learned so much from them.
