Overview
About Me
Hey, I’m a Ukrainian computer science student, doing a 2 year exchange program in Kyoto University. I’ve got time till April left, so trying to see as much as possible while I can. In japan have travelled all around Hokkaido, Gifu prefecture, Okinawa, Shikoku, quite in many places in Kansai area, Christmas trip on the east coast from kyoto to Hiroshima and back which actually was my first big trip in Japan and made me fall in love with it. As well did naksendo trail, Tokyo and surroundings (best part of Tokyo surroundings I guess was Nikko village and Hakone). My greatest achievement though in japan was climbing mt. Fuji which turned out to be quite an extreme experience.
About me before japan, hmmmm seems like ages ago. Well I did 6 months of volunteering, teaching people about climate change and reasons why it’s happening in France which was my first big experience of living and working abroad. I loved there and plan to go back there to study engineering in Paris this summer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While being on volunteering I realized that I want to travel around the world and meet new people who has same interests as I do as well as those who do completely different stuff which makes meetings even more interesting. I think that the best way to make international friends is to ask for a host on this site and spend good days together

Music, Movies, and Books
To be honest, I'm listening to every kind of music. it depends on my mood.
Favorites films are: Inception, Interstellar, Lord of rings and Batman.
Among tv shows: Friends, Witcher, Breaking Bad, Game of thrones, Sherlock, House of cards.
I think that the book which is my favorite since childhood is Harry Potter. I mostly read technical literature, but on my shelves, there are also biopics and fantasy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve become a person I dreamed of when was a child: travelling around the world, learning cultures and meeting people, enjoying most of my life (yeah even university ahah) the thing is, when I entered uni back in Ukraine it was a Covid time, thus before arriving to kyoto I had never had in class studying. And being here in real classes, romanticising everything, studying till late in libraries is best.
