About Me

Hi!

Let's start easy: I'm 21 years old and living in Bamberg right now, as I am studying Sociology here. Originally, I come from southern Bavaria, but Bamberg makes it easy to fall in love with its beautiful town. Additionally, my three flat mates are the nicest girls I could have found, which makes it even easier to feel home here.
If we don't just meet for a piece of cake in the kitchen (food really is our passion), I also like to meet up with them or other friends in the town centre (usually to continue eating there), do sports or work through my watchlist.

On weekends, I love to undertake extensive bicycle tours across Bamberg county, where I enjoy nature and being on my own.
I don't need people around me all the time, but I appreciate exchanging experiences and opinions with others and no matter if I share the opposite's sight of view or not, mostly I feel like I learned something new.
Once you start rolling the ball you can get the chance to have a great, inspiring talk, for which fighting through small talk pays off ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Instead of learning for my exams I decided to turn towards more enjoyable activities - like planning vacation!
I barely have plans yet, but I'm eager to see something else, meet different people and experience new adventures. I don't even know yet which direction I wanna go. If it's in the EU, I go for it!

Couchsurfing seems to be a great opportunity to leave comfort zone (metaphorically speaking - I do not intend to insult your couch ;) ) and to get to know people who I couldn't meet else.

Interests

I love scrolling through the Internet and discover new stuff I didn’t know about before.

Since I go to the gym I'm also interested in food, nutrition, bodies and Sports. I motivate myself to exercise regularly but I'm still lazy af so...I have my way to go.

I'm into slavic languages, I just really like their sound and how they work. I hope I can study slavistics later on. Since my boyfriend is czech and lives in Czech Republic I started to learn the language. Progress is slow and It's not easy but I'm always glad when I found out something new or got a new vocable.

Music, Movies, and Books

The list would be endless, but I'll give you some highlights.

I love (love!) GoT and the book series, since months I wanted to reread them but just can't find the time...

Lately I developed a weird passion for mountaineering, alpine climbing etc., watching Messner-documentaries and so on and go on Wikipedia for stories about first ascents, accidents and expeditions.

Cooking shows, baking shows, I know the full range of Netflix’s offer of that genre.

My taste in music changes, sometimes I like tec, sometimes I like rock, sometimes I like country and sometimes I like Indie. It's really hard to find the perfect song, but who I can always listen to is Jake Bugg <3

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I had the opportunity to visit Japan which was absolutly amazing and I HAVE to go there again someday. The same goes for Ukraine last summer, I had almost no idea and was given unique memories of a beautiful country.

Teach, Learn, Share

For whatever reason I have a deep interest in anything Slavic, since quite some time now. I don't know where that comes from, I don't have any relatives from Eastern Europe but since years I look up Slavic languages, traditions, history or food (of course).

What can I teach...well, I don't have special talents but if you're around and want some company I always have ideas for nice trips or I can show you Bamberg.

Grown up in Bavaria the Bavarian dialect is so to say my mother tongue, which I am willingly to share with you :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

In return for your hospitality I will gladly cook or bake for you, I may not be the best cook, but I will cook with love and dedication :D
If there is something I can bring you from Germany, tell me!
