I live in Freising, an old city nearby Munich in Germany. But I was born in Ithaca, NY. I grew up in Germany and graduated from high school (Gymansium) last year. Before I'll start going to university, I want to gain as much work experience as possible and get to know different cultures as well as countries. The U.S. has been one of my dream destination for years, because I want to see and live in the country I was born in.

Right now I am traveling through New York State. Most of the time I am staying with hosts from Workaway, this way I can work during my trip and get to meet many different people (similar to Couchsurfing I guess :))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of staying with locals or in a hostel rather than spend the time at a hotel. I feel like you can learn and experience so much more when you meet many people and exchange stories and maybe even travel together for a bit. Or just do something together, go to the museum, explore the city by foot, go hiking,...

I want to start hosting as soon as I get back home, in order to be able to give the travellers the same opportunities and the same hospitality I received. :)

Interests

I am a member of a hip-hop group and participate regularly in competitions. Besides dancing, I am interested in photography and kayaking. I really enjoy hiking and exploring nature.
What I would really like to learn is surfing and scuba diving. I don't know what it is, but something about the ocean fascinates me and makes me happy at the same time.
I am very open to see new things during my travel, so I would be happy if you have an interest or a passion you want to share.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy music and learned appreciate it even more through dance. I love watching movies and tv-shows and probably know too much about it. But I guess, sometimes I like experience different cultures and daily life abroad and kind of travelling by watching movies and tv-shows even if I am staying at home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That probably sounds unspectacular, but one of my favorite memories is sitting in the back of a truck while driving along the Mexican coast during sunset. It was one of those moments in which I really felt free.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to share my passion for dance and music. Also I could show you some movies and tv-shows (I know a lot, don't know wheter that's a good or a bad thing). I could teach you basic photography knowledge, if you want to.
I can show you some typical German recipes (for example Kaiserschmarn, which is a dish made out of ripped pancakes that Germans - especially Bavarians - are addicted of :))

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to help in the house by doing some of the chores. I could show you some German recipes. In addition I would love to tell you about my country and culture. Exchange hobbies, music and stories.
I could offer editing pictures for you and I'd be totally down to spend time with you and check out events or local attractions that you always wanted to visit.
