**Summer 2017 update - using my summer holidays as a teacher to get out to Australia. Just done a 3 week road trip up the West coast with a friend and now hoping to meet some people on the East coast through couchsurfing**

I originally joined for a trip to the states (details below). I was travelling alone so wanted to meet people, and of course saving the funds was a great help. I'm now looking to help out young travellers visiting London (so if you're just looking for a place to crash while you go on a night out or gig please look elsewhere.)
If you want to stay with me please send a message with a bit about yourself (age, occupation, reason for travel). Please be aware I get a lot of requests in London so don't be offended if I don't get back to you or can't host you. Hope your travels go well.

**A few highlights form USA 2015**
I've been surfing in the US for two weeks now and have been having the greatest time. Highlights include a pot luck CS bbq in Hatford with 50 surfers and a pool! Boston with my amazing host Sean, who treated me to American breakfasts every day, Cape Cod with the wonderful (momma) Mia, who welcomed me into her home and family, and the emergency couchsurf stop in Providence with the mysterious Johannie, who took me in at the very last minute and treated me to all the simple gifts in life (food, bed, shower, laundry).

I'm a pub person, not a club person. I like sharing food - eating in or out. I loved my degree - Philosophy and Literature, so reading is high on my interests list. I'm sporty/outdoorsy, I play netball, tennis, hockey, ultimate frisbee and do watersports when I have the chance. I also love walking/hiking/trekking, what every you call it - especially if it involves lugging a tent and meal half way up a mountain to a lake for a dip and a night by the camp fire. Other interests include community building projects, cultural exchange, and general humanitarian living. I also love lists.

Three years of studying lit at uni has taught me lots of things, but not how to choose a favorite book! Recent good reads have included Hag-Seed by Margaret Atwood and My Brilliant Friend by Elena Farrente.
Recently have greatly enjoyed the TV programs State of Play and Life on Mars and Stranger Things.

I'm always ready to learn. I'm especially interested in hearing about what people think of the place they live in and the people who live there.

I'm a fair cook (I was a vegetarian for six years, so have explore the wide world of pulses in the last six years), so sharing a meal is a possibility. Good conversation - of course this can never be guaranteed, but I'm not shy and I'm interested in most things so rarely find it hard to talk to people.
